WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER ISSUE! WELCOME TO HOLIDAY 2019! This season we were inspired by the iconic photographer HELMUT NEWTON. His images has always been a favorite of mine because of their sexual undertones that still remained sophisticated. This year we wanted to give you a modern streamlined Holiday thats glamorous without being too glitzy, sexy without being raunchy. For this issue we chose 3 very young models that reflects the trending look of african features and a youthful vibe. @linowilson from @selectmodels, will make his Paris debut very soon as he has signed but a few months to an agency. @delarthemodel also reflects whats happening in the industry ,Black models with a darker complexion and african features ruling the catwalk. It goes back to the 1980’s and 90’s when models like Mounia, Katoucha, Khadijah, Anna Fiona were stars. They were the top runway models in Paris and worked in the cabines of Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy and Ungaro. Those are the girls who paved the way for African American models like Veronica Webb, Beverly Peele and Naomi Campbell. I recently heard of a coffee table book that’s just been published crediting the aforementioned. Nevertheless the African girls that paved the way didn’t work in the US as their skin were darker .The American girls got all the credit. Yves Saint Laurent and Hubert de Givenchy loved them for their grace and sophistication. And here we are today as history is repeating itself. I chose @kate_sutton12 because she is 6ft tall and only 14yrs old and looks very much like Bella Hadid.Therefore throwing our sexual innuendos out the door.
