WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER ISSUE. A HELMUT NEWTON CHRISTMAS. This Issue was inspired by the iconic German photographer Helmut Newton. I love his use of shadows and the way he portrayed the strength and sexuality of a woman. Makeup played a big part in his images, a perfectly stained lip along with a perfectly manicured lacquered hand. We cannot forget the use of fashion to bring his woman to life. Enter Makeup and Hair stylist @debbie_jacks at @distinctartists . Our Newton girl of the moment comes to us via @Selectmodelchicago , she is but 14. It was quite a challenge to bring out that Newtonesque beauty. Kate’s look started with Armani Luminous Silk Foundation applied sparingly. The focus of this look is the strong black eye that was created using Chanel Long Wear Crème eyeliner on the lid and under eye in an exaggerated cat eye shape. Tom Ford eye shadow was used to blend and smudge the under eye line. The eyes were finished off with Armani beauty Eyes to Kill mascara. With this strong eye the lips were kept natural using only a bit of Cle de Peau lip balm . All these beautiful products can be found at Saks Fifth Avenue. To add a bit of drama our Manicurist of choice @its_justbe applied the finishing touch. A sultry sophistication best describes the nail colors featured here. Alluring at first sight, “Dark Dahlia” by CND captivates with its depth. The potency of its deep purple almost black hue is undeniable. It sets the tone for a fierce and mysterious moment. After all that, she slid @kika_alvarenga’s 18 K gold cocktail rings on her fingers along with her earring and gave us a Helmut Newton moment. This portfolio photographed by Akin Girav.
