HOW TO ADD AN EXTRA DOSE OF STYE TO YOUR SHOE THIS FALL.

How to Add an Extra Dose of Style to Your Shoe This Fall

WELCOME TO THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE! In our efforts to be relevant and in trying to inform our viewers on how to make little bits of their wardrobe a little more special, we’re writing a series of posts on How To’s. In our last editorial, we were compelled to make the foot as interesting as what was going on in the clothes. Yet, in shooting fashion stories, we sometimes run into issues with acquiring really beautiful shoes that are not just your typical black stiletto or bootie. As a stylist, I’m constantly buying things to keep for use at a later date. Socks are one of them. These plain, black stilettos and booties and basic, brown sandals were particularly boring; therefore we decided to use socks to bring a bit of style interest. For the black bootie, we used a shorter sock in white to bring a bit of color between the leg and the skirt, and for the stiletto, I used a pompom sock. For the sandals, we used two pairs of socks layered in different colors to bring a play of color at the foot to clash with the existing color of the brown suede sandal. Adding the socks is a simple touch, but in capturing an image, it helps to bring together a look. We hope you find this helpful for fall. It adds style as well as a bit of layering for warmth when you really want to wear a sandal in the crisp autumn air.
